Seattle is a lovely city, but it's a bit far away for some people, so we wanted to give everyone some travel tips.
Air Travel
Seattle-Tacoma Airport (SEA) is by far the easiest airport to fly into. We've managed to secure a few discount codes to ease the expense of some major airlines. If there's an airline not on the list that you're interested in flying on, Contact Us and we'll look into getting a discount.
- American Airlines - Use discount code 53H1BM when you book from AA.com to receive a 5% discount.
- Alaska Airlines - Use discount code ECCMB2565 when you book from AlaskaAir.com to receive a 7% discount.
- Southwest Airlines - We don't have a discount code, but just wanted to remind everyone that Southwest flies to Seattle.
The easiest way to get from the airport into downtown is to ride the Link, our light rail system. It will take you straight to downtown for $2.50. A taxi will cost you at least $30. If you want to rent a car, just remember that you'll have to pay for parking pretty much everywhere.
Lodging
Seattle has a wide area of lodging options. We recommend that everyone look around and find a place that best fits their needs and budget. That said, we have arranged a few discounts for those interested.
- SpringHill Suites - We've reserved a block of rooms at the SpringHill Suites, located at 1800 Yale Avenue. This hotel is a long-ish but reasonable walk from the aquarium (~1 mile) and is close to Capitol Hill, which is a great place for bars and restaurants. This hotel has a pool, offers free internet and free breakfast, and there are fridges and microwaves in each unit. Our rate here is $109 / night, and you have to book by Sept 23rd. Mention the "Korelin / Hatridge Wedding" over the phone to get the discounted rate. Or, book online via these links: King Suite or Double/Double Suite. Just click "Find" in the form on the left - all the info is prepopulated for you.
- Hyatt Place - This is a very nice business traveler-style hotel. There's a pool, free internet, free breakfast, and parking is a reasonable $15. The hotel is located up by the Space Needle, which is just over a mile from the aquarium but close to the Science Museum and other attractions. Our rate here is $139 / night. Make reservations by Sept 9th by using the group code "G-KH11" online or by mentioning the "Korelin / Hatridge Wedding" over the phone.
- The Paramount Hotel - The Paramount is located at 724 Pine Street. This hotel is a short walk (~0.5 mile) from the aquarium and is close to shopping at Pacific Place and the Pike Place Market. This is a nicer hotel that offers free internet, but breakfast and parking will be additional costs. We don't have a block reserved here, so you need to book early if interested. Ask for the "Wedding Rate" and you'll get a 10% discount.
- Hotel Monaco - This is a fancy, pricier, boutique hotel that is less than a quarter mile from the aquarium. Enter "PASSU" into the Rate Code box to receive a 15% discount. Again, there's no rooms on hold here, so act quickly.
- Any Wyndham Hotel (like the Travelodge Seattle Center) - We don't have any rooms held, but type "61762" into the Corporate Code box when booking for a 20% discount.
- City Hostel - If you're okay staying in a hostel, this is a fantastic one. All the rooms have been painted by local artists, so the place has a very unique style. It's also located near a bunch of bars and restaurants (in the area known as Belltown) and is about a 10min walk from the aquarium. We don't have a reservation here - WA state residents aren't even allowed to make reservations here - so you'll want to call quickly to get a spot.
Car Rental
You shouldn't feel the need to rent a car - all our locations are relatively close together, and Seattle has good public transit (buses in the downtown area are even free during the day) and taxis. That said, if you want the freedom to drive yourself around, you can use these discount codes to get a deal on rental cars.
- Hertz - 1866611
- Avis - D003737
- Budget - D429800
- Dollar - PASS7
